Artist's Comments

According to advice of 2 persons, I reissue my last drawings. I topped up shades and changed light so that it is more red, more warm-hearted. When I lived in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, I was encircled with buildings everything in glasses which réflétait in all flat the survey of the sun. There was a nice light pink orange!

Clever concept, definitely, combining photographs with drawings like this. The shading and highlighting on the record player is absolutely splendid. The girl's hair and face are well-drawn and well-shaded, and the bracelets are a nice touch, though the headphones are a bit too flat. Other parts of the body contain some pretty grievous anatomy errors, though. Take the right arm-there's no way you could bend it behind the head at that angle and not have at least some of it peek over the other side. And if you mean for it to be supporting the side of the head, with the elbow on the floor, it's not clear enough. You'd need to foreshorten the upper arm more and fix the hair so it looks like there is a hand through it. Also, right leg-looks like it's kneeling straight upwards, instead of lying on its side under the left leg. To fix that, make the right knee broader and draw the lower leg farther apart from the upper. And make it wider near the waist. And the foot might be a bit too long. The left leg is better, although some more dynamic shading to make it pop out from the page more couldn't hurt. Left hand is positioned to make it look like the fingertips are on the floor, but it isn't shaded that way. The records are placed well, but I don't get why they're not given any since of depth, especially when your shading of the head and hair was so excellent. Yeah, they're stacked on top of each other, but the lowest ones look like they're just pieces of paper glued to the floor. Shade them better, or draw in the sides and back of them, because they don't look realistic now. But still, a better-than-average job. A scene any music junkie can relate to.
